From the borders at the Inner Temple gardens, which hosted an RHS flower show last week.
I've been working within walking distance of this place for years, and I had no idea it was there.
There gardens were lovely, mixed borders, mainly - but some beautiful shade borders and lovely old trees, too.
The event itself was pretty fantastic - kinda like a very, very small version of the Chelsea flower show. There was a champagne bar (which I passed on) and an all female steel band. Because nothing says traditional English gardening like steel drums.

I like to think that the British (and the Danes and the Dutch and the French) are responsible for steel drum bands. After all, these bands originated in former (and some still) British colonies of the Caribbean. Steel drums came from the metropoles, folks in the peripheries turned them into musical instrument. God bless the inventiveness in the colonies/ So..the steel drum is a quintessential British artifact most likely to be adapted by the Chinese Overlords when they arrive and reexport the drums to St Lucia

Yup - the Inner Temple gardens are fab aren't they? I time my wisteria pruning to their schedule. In fact the whole Middle Temple/Inner Temple is definitely worth an explore if you haven't yet had a poke around...
