We got a new dishwasher yesterday. The old one broke. Neither myself nor the Vol-in-Law are big on chores, but we really don't like hand washing dishes. There were several discussions about turns and who had completed a higher proportion of the washing up. These were colorful discussions.
The Vol-in-Law said that the absence of the dishwasher proved how fragile was the veil between civilization and barbarity.
I said - are you going to dry those?

Anyway, the new dishwasher is installed. Thus far I don't like it as much as the old one - except in one key area. It works.

Ah, the pleasures of civilized life.
It has now been 4 years since I've:
used a dishwasher
had a garbage disposal
had a clothes dryer
My life is so primitive!
On the plus side, I do have a washing machine in the apartment, which is a big step up from my Nashville life.
I'm glad you had the funds to save the marriage. And they say money cannot by happiness! VM
