The campaign is starting...

I've been waiting for this moment for some time, but this post at Jackson Miller's site has stifled my indecision. I'm kicking off my campaign.

Who would you like to see as the next Chairman of the Fed?

I think it should be me.

And although it's true that I don't have the key qualification - that is I'm not a Bush crony, I do have an MA in Economics, but I am waaay underqualified, so that should do.

And for everyone who supports me in this campaign, once I'm chair - I will give you advance tips about the movement of interest rates. It should be a hoot. Though I will ask you to keep that just between you and me.

Well, Vol, I was all set to support Ben Bernake (yes, I have put some thought into this), but now I guess I have to throw my support behind you. After all, you're a FOSC (friend of st. caffeine). Just promise me that you won't cave and follow a disastrous "easy money" policy, a la the late 1970s! Of course, we could have one heck of a party.

Whoops, that's Ben Bernanke -- I guess I really should learn to spell his name if I'm going to tout him for Al's post, huh?
